1. Great Table
I am very happy with this table. I wanted a train table that was real wood so that it would be durable and could be refinished (if need be) so that it could be used for years to come and be passed on to other families when we are done with it.
A few things that would be good to know before buying:
* The table is not finished (no protective coating, just bare wood, at least as far as we could tell). You could leave it like this, and it looks great like this, but I was worried about it being ruined by water from a stray sippy cup, or a child's artistic efforts with a crayon or marker, so my husband finished it (prior to assembly, of course) with about three coats of Varathane Diamond Polyurethane in Satin and it looks fabulous - you can hardly tell that it has a finish on it, it has no chemical odor from the finish, and now I have some peace of mind that it will be protected to some degree.
* The birch top does match the maple legs and sides. The colors of the two woods...

2. Great, durable table. Better than more popular pressed wood models.
This table is a real winner! We've had this for a year now and it's been really great. We first had another of the most popular selling tables that just fell apart in the shipping box. This table is solid wood and is very sturdy. The dowels across the table that the table top sits on are also solid wood, so it just stands up to so much. Both my children have been caught sitting on top of this, and I don't fear it falling apart (I don't recommend them sitting on it though) This table made it through a long move, actually the movers transferred it four times since it had to go into a storage unit, and it completely stood up. It did not break, chip, or get wobbly.

The price of this table is so reasonable for the quality of this table and compared to the competition out there. A very good buy and completely worth the money.

I was a bit hesitant to buy this last year given that there was only one review and it wasn't too detailed. I searched all the tables...

Bought this for my grandson who is two years old. I holds his Thomas the Trains and is a good height for him. The table is sturdy and looks nice with the clear maple finish.
