This Board Games give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Good educational game
We bought this for our daughter who is just over three and a half and she just understands the concepts involved in the toy - I am sure in a few months she will understand it much better. The toy is really different and it is definitely educational. It is well priced. The only problem is that there is nowhere to store the spikes of the porcupine and if you lose them - that is the end of the toy. We put them in a zip-loc and placed them in a place that only adults could get to. Otherwise a great toy.
2. Cute, but ...
I purchased Polly the Porcupine game because I thought it would help my grandson with memory, thinking and strategy. It is a memory game in that the players must remember where the shorter quills are. The player with the shortest quill during each round gets to keep their quill. The one with the most at the end of the game is the winner. My grandson is almost 4. He thinks Polly is cute, but isn't all that interested in the game. She sits on a shelf and he doesn't ask to play the game again. It would be nice if the box had been larger so she could be put away in the box. Her quills fall out very easily. It's all too easy for little ones to lose the quills. His 16 month old sister would be love to play with Polly and would surely lose the quills. One nice quality is there is a spot underneath that keeps the die securely with Polly.

Cute, Low key
Visually appealing but some children will lose interest quickly if they are used to more active or challenging games. Concepts of long/short, longer/shorter and longest/shortest are reinforced. Over priced!
